Leeds & Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre - Guiding Entrepreneurs Towards Business Excellence

Serving Leeds and Grenville, the Small Business Centre is a one-stop shop for information about starting a business, growing an existing business or youth entrepreneurship initiatives.  They can connect you with other small business owners and services that support small business growth, including business counseling, seminars, conferences and networking events.  The resource centre in Brockville has many printed resources and self help books.  A small business counselor is available in Kemptville one day per month by appointment.  Go to http://www.lgsbec.com for more information.

 

St. Lawrence College – Job Connect

Job Connect and Summer Jobs Service programs are funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and are available free of charge to employers who operate registered businesses in Ontario and to job seekers over the age of 16 who are out of work, out of school, not receiving employment insurance benefits and who are eligible to work in Canada.

Community Access Program

The Community Access Program (CAP) is a federally sponsored program initiated by Industry Canada that provides funds for computers and computer equipment so that public libraries can set up "CAP Centres" for the public to access the Internet. more>

 

Self-Employment Business Program

Eligibility Criteria: If you are unemployed and:

  • are receiving Employment Insurance (El) benefits or
  • have had an El claim during the past three years or
  • have received maternity or parental leave benefits during the past five years without a job to return to,

you may be eligible to be considered for the SEB Program.
